Please visit our website: www.cbs.cw Investment obstacles Almost 36 percent of the companies have indicated that they experienced inv estment obstacles in the first half of 2013. This is somew hat more than half a year ago, 36 percent. These obstacles are mainly due to a shortage of financial resources and poor market forecast, both 19 percent (respectively 17 and 15 percent in December 2013). Also government policy is an important obstacle: 15 percent (14% last December). Less companies, 49 percent, stated that their confidence worsened last half year (down from 56 percent last December). Furthermore 47 percent of the companies considered no change towards their confidence in the economy (was 43%). Only 4 percent of the interviewed businesses acknowledged that the confidence in the economy improved over the past half year. Confidence in the future The percentage of enterprises with confidence in the future has increased from 41 to 51 percent. It seems that the negative trend, wh ich started in June 2011, has come to an end. Moreover the number of companies which have no confidence in the future has decreased from 33 to 24 percent. The companies that had no opinion remained almost at the same level (from 27% to 26%). The entrepreneurs opinions with bad decreased from 40 to 38 percent. Here also, it seems that the negative trend from June 2011 has come to an end. As usual most companies consider the investment climate to be moderate. This percentage increased from 55 to 58 percent. In December 2012 this was almost 62 percent, somewhat higher. In accord ance to this, more than 41 percent of the companies expect to make a loss in 2013.
